An alleged "love angle" is being investigated by the Philippine National Police in connection with the disappearance of Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate Catherine Camilon.

Based on Interaksyon's report, PNP CIDG Director Police Major Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr. said that the person of interest in Catherine's case and the beauty queen were allegedly in a "love relationship" and their relationship was an "open secret."

In an interview with GMA's Regional TV, he said that there was allegedly a quarrel between the victim and the suspect.

"Quarrel among this victim and tsaka ‘yung suspect," he said.

While the CIDG already has sufficient evidence, they are still gathering more evidence to further strengthen their case against the suspect.

Catherine Camilon was a contestant for Miss Grand Philippines 2023. She was talked about on social media after reports were made that she went missing on Oct. 12.

Miss Grand Philippines contestant Catherine Camilon has been reported missing since October 12. Her sister Chin-Chin Camilon took to Facebook to ask for help in finding the beauty queen-teacher. Chin-Chin also shared an image showing details about her missing sibling, sharing that she is 26 years old, with a height of 5’6.” She then uploaded an image of Catherine’s vehicle and its plate number.

Her sister, Chin-Chin Camilon, expressed her great concern and love for the missing beauty queen and teacher. Chin-Chin also wrote a message to Catherine telling her to come home and surprise their mom, who is celebrating her birthday today. The sister shared last Friday that many people are extremely worried about Catherine since it is unusual for her not to message her family about her whereabouts.
