The popular OPM band was supposed to play at the festival alongside other well-known bands like Imago and I Belong To The Zoo.

In his announcement, Gov. Hamor said he did not allow the band to play and just sent them home to Manila because of their alleged “attitude” problem.

“Hihingi ako ng paumanhin, hindi na matutuloy ang Kamikazee. Wala tayong magagawa, bayad 'yun kaso may mga attitude,” Gov. Hamor announced just a few moments before the scheduled performance of the OPM rock band Sunday night.

The provincial official did not give any specifics as to the band’s action that made Gov. Hamor say Kamikazee has an “attitude” problem, though there were reports saying the group refused to have their photo taken with the newest tourist attraction in Sorsogon, “Thousands Light Roses.”

Kamikazee is one of the most popular OPM bands in the country. They are known for their hit songs “Narda,” “Martyr Nyebera,” “Huling Sayaw,” and many more. The band is composed of frontman Jay Contreras, Jomal Linao and Led Tuyay on guitars, Jason Astete on bass, and Allan "Bords" Burdeos on drums.

Last year, the band stirred a buzz online after they were seen playing together in a location in Baguio City. In a post uploaded by Neri Miranda, the wife of Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda, one can see Kamikazee band members seemingly complete and performing in the said location. Neri said it’s like they just ate together and then decided to jam afterwards. She said that the said place was so lucky as Kamikazee chose it as the place where they could jam together in public after a long while.

During the 2022 general election campaign period, the band's drummer, Allan Burdeos, took to social media to slam rumors about their alleged participation in the UniTeam’s campaign rally scheduled for April 10, 2022 in Zamboanga. He denied the band is part of the lineup of performers who will entertain the crowd at the scheduled rally and said “mga sinungaling,” though did not say to whom he was addressing this particular phrase. In his post, Allan posted the alleged poster circulating online showing their band’s name along with other popular bands like Parokya ni Edgar and IV of Spades. The Parokya ni Edgar official page and Blaster Silonga of the IV of Spades earlier denied their participation in the event.
