Maureen Wroblewitz, in a recent post on Instagram, took time to share what she considers a dark page in her life where she said she was smiling on the outside but struggling on the inside.

“This girl that you see smiling and posing in front of the camera was thinking of all the easiest ways to end her life just a few months prior,” Maureen’s post read.

She said that if it wasn’t for her sister, she said she might not be here today.

“If it wasn't for her little sister finding her in a vulnerable situation and telling her parents about it, I don't know if I would be here today,” the beauty queen and model said.

Maureen then narrated how she found herself in such a difficult situation before.

“After losing my Mom at the age of 11 and experiencing more of life's difficulties soon after, I had slowly started losing faith in myself,” she said.

“I was fighting my inner demons alone because I chose to suffer in silence. I didn't want to burden anyone with my problems but I also was too ashamed of them,” Maureen added.

“I knew something was wrong but I wanted to hide that for as long as I could. It wasn't until one blurry night and suddenly I was exposed,” the beauty queen further said.

She revealed her family suggested she see a therapist and from that time on, she started to see herself in a different light.

“My parents suggested I start seeing a therapist and after completing a few sessions, my Dad gifted me a book. 'Life Without Limits' by Nick Vujicic. That is what ultimately inspired me to change my outlook on life,” Maureen wrote in her post.

“Nick's story had made me realize that at just 13, I hadn't even seen the world yet. I didn't know what was yet to happen, and I thought 'What if I do become someone in this lifetime?' ‘What if I get to inspire people with my story?' ‘What if I'm meant for something bigger?' she further said.

It was at this point she said that she realized she couldn’t hide forever and that she could still be someone she could be proud of.

“From then on I knew I had to make my dreams a reality, I knew I couldn't hide in my darkness forever. I was convinced that telling my story was my purpose and that I had to work hard so I could become someone that I'm proud of,” she wrote.

“I am grateful for all the people in my life who love and care for me. I wouldn't be here without them.. literally. To all my supporters, you have made my dreams possible and you still continue to do so,” Maureen said.

Maureen Wroblewitz is a Filipino-German model who gained prominence after winning the 2017 edition of “Asia’s Next Top Model.” She used to be in a relationship with popular music artist Juan Karlos Labajo until their breakup mid-year in 2022.

In January of this year, the beauty queen and model shared a TikTok video where she dubbed the lyrics of Miley Cyrus' song 'Flowers'. According to Maureen, she is in the healing stage from the trauma of her previous relationship. She said, that in a relationship that is open to the public, many don't know what's really going on. She also clarified in the comments section that the focus of her video is on her experience and not on her ex.

Last June, she took to Instagram and greeted an unnamed person. She said happy birthday to the person who makes her feel like she is the luckiest girl in the world. The beauty queen also pointed out the great traits of the said person. She also said that the person's gentle love teaches her how she can love herself more every day.
