The Kapuso broadcast journalist passed away at the age of 71 on August 29.

Before delivering their closing spiels on Tuesday's episode of “TV Patrol,” the three Kapamilya broadcasters offered their condolences to the bereaved family.

“Isa na namang malungkot na balita. Isang haligi ng pamamahayag sa ating bansa,” Henry aired after Noli reported the heartbreaking news.

“Nakikiramay po kami,” Noli underscored.

“Condolence po,” Bernadette said. “Especially sa mga Kapuso.”

Furthermore, Kabayan looked back on his memories with Mike.

“Matagal-tagal din kaming naging magkaibigan ni Mike. Lagi kaming nagkakasabay sa mga live, sa Quiapo, basta malalaking live (coverage) nagkakasabay kami noong may prangkisa pa tayo,” Noli recalled.

Mike Enriquez, or Miguel Castro Enriquez in real life, was a multi-awarded Pinoy television and radio newscaster. He was the president of GMA Network’s regional and radio subsidiary, RGMA Network Inc., and was also the Station Manager of Super Radyo DZBB 594 AM. Mike was also a regular anchor on 24 Oras with Mel Tiangco and Vicky Morales. The veteran broadcast journalist passed away at the age of 71. GMA Network confirmed the news in a statement released Tuesday.

Mel Tiangco could not help but get emotional while reporting Mike’s passing. In the said report, Mel’s voice quavered while presenting GMA Network’s statement on Mike’s demise. Furthermore, Vicky Morales and Emil Sumangil were also seen emotional during the closing spiel.

On the day of his passing, Mike’s fellow newscasters and workers in GMA News, all posted black photos on their respective social media pages. Among those who paid respects to his death was Arnold Clavio, who posted a black photo with a candle on his Instagram page, @akosiigan. Lyn Ching, a fellow GMA News co-worker, took to her social media pages to write the words, "Booma, you will be missed."
