Herlene Budol made headlines a week ago due to her surprising announcement that she was bidding farewell to beauty pageants.

However, she seemed to have a change of heart about her future in pageantry during an interview with TV hosts Kim Atienza and Susan Enriquez on the episode of "Dapat Alam Mo!" featured on GMA Network's YouTube channel last Thursday, August 3rd.

Herlene responded by shaking her head and clarifying that her previous declaration was influenced by the uncertainty surrounding her representation of the Philippines in a global beauty pageant due to issues involving the Miss Tourism franchise. She, however, did not disclose the specific international pageant she might compete in.

Furthermore, Herlene is planning to have a period of self-growth and skill development once the unspecified international pageant is over.

Herlene Budol, also known as 'Hipon Girl', is an actress, comedian, and social media star who broke through in showbiz as a contestant on “Wowowin” and later became a host.

In other news, Herlene’s answer during the Q&A portion of Miss Grand Philippines 2023 pageant went viral. One of the judges asked Herlene what she thinks is the most urgent problem among Filipino youth and how she would address it. After answering the question, she made the crowd cheer for her when she said, “I-English-in niya po,” referring to her interpreter.

Previously, Herlene shared her meaningful advocacy in the Top 15 speech portion of Miss Grand Philippines 2023. She said that as an influencer, she would promote cyber safety.
