Riva Quenery recently took to her Instagram account to share her thoughts on the unfortunate incident involving her best friend, Awra Briguela.

She expressed her sadness and frustration over the turn of events regarding Awra's arrest and the charges filed against him.

Concerned for her loyal friend, Riva immediately visited the police station where Awra was being detained.

According to her, Awra narrated the events that transpired after he courageously defended his friends against a group of men who had been harassing them.

She also revealed that multiple charges had been filed against Awra, including assault on a police officer, disobedience, and resisting arrest.

"So many people are messaging me about what happened. I'm not the type of person who always gives statements through social media, but I won't let this pass. I really felt sad sa nangyari sa napakaloyal kong kaibigan na si Awra. Kaninang umaga, tumawag siya at nalaman kong inaresto siya sa Makati dahil sa isang kaguluhan na nangyari. Dinalaw ko siya sa police station sa Makati kung saan siya na-detain at biglang bumagsak ang balikat ko nung nakita ko siya,

"Kinwento nya sakin ang sinapit nya matapos nyang ipagtanggol ang kaibigan nya laban sa grupo ng mga lalaking hinipuan ang kanyang kaibigan. Nauwi sa mainit na pagtatalo yung mga sumunod na nangyari na kung saan sinuntok sya ng nasabing lalaki. Nasundan na ng away sa magkabilang grupo hanggang sa dumating na yung mga pulis.

"Isang malaking katanungan lang yung nasa isip ko at ng maraming tao na kung BAKIT SI AWRA LANG ANG PINOSAS-AN AT INARESTO? Nasaan yung mga ibang lalaking na involve sa away? The worst part is, multiple charges have been filed against Awra. Tulad daw ng assault sa pulis, disobedience at resisting arrest. Paano naman magagawa lahat ni Awra yan eh kitang kita naman sa video na hawak na sya ng dalawang naglalakihang bouncer at pinoposasan pa ng pulis. Nangangatwiran lang naman yung kaibigan ko pero sigurado ako hindi mananakit yun ng otoridad. Nakita ko pa kanina na ang dami nyang pasa sa likod, at may malaking bukol pa sa ulo. Hindi man lang siya sinuri or pinagamot ng maayos.

"Saludo ako kay Awra at kilala ko sya bilang kaibigan na kaya ka nyang ipaglaban. Pero bakit kung sino pa ang ang nasa katwiran, sya pa ang ikukulong? BAKIT? GUSTO NYO BANG GAWING TROPHY SI AWRA? Laliman nyo naman ang imbestigasyon nyo hindi yung alam nyo nang mali, pinaninindigan nyo pa. So nasaan na yung mga nanghipo sa mga kaibigan ni Awra? Nasaan na yung sumapak sa kanila na kahit may pulis na dumating eh hindi nagsitigil at kay Awra lang lahat naka focus. ACHIEVEMENT BA PARA SAINYO DAHIL SI AWRA ANG NAHULI NYO? #JusticeForAwra"

Awra Briguela, or McNeal Briguela, is a young Filipino comedian and actor. His popularity started when he became part of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano when he was personally chosen for the role by the show's lead actor Coco Martin. He was also the first champion for season one of the Philippine version of Your Face Sounds Familiar: Kids. In 2016, Awra's life was featured in a titular episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya.
