The actor is famous for his movie roles in One More Chance, A Very Special Love, Now That I Have You, and many more. He has collaborated with several actresses in various movies and TV soaps, including Bea Alonzo, Sarah Geronimo, Toni Gonzaga, Angel Locsin, and Kaye Abad. He has a son named Elias Modesto with his former partner, Ellen Adarna, who is now married to actor Derek Ramsay. John Lloyd and Ellen have been co-parenting Elias since their breakup.
