Cristy Fermin, in the June 6 episode of "Cristy Ferminute," discussed matters concerning the new hosts of TAPE's "Eat Bulaga."

Among the new hosts who carried the show after TVJ left TAPE were Paolo Contis, Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, Cassy and Mavy Legaspi, and Alexa Miro.

Out of the new hosts, Nay Cristy pinpointed Paolo as the one whom bashers loved criticizing the most.

She said that it is because Paolo allegedly does not give support to his daughter with LJ Reyes, Summer.

"Sinusukat po si Paolo Contis sa kinikita niya, na hindi naman po puwedeng itago dahil naka-ere talaga ang pagtatrabaho niya. Eh sabi nga po ni Paolo, nag-iipon pa siya... Sabi ng isang kaibigan ko, 'What does he mean by that?' Yung wag na munang kumain si Summer hangga't walang sustento yung ama?" she said.

Nay Cristy expressed sympathy for the hosts.

"Andun sa aking puso na, sana wag nating i-bash yung mga artista, yung mga personalities na tinanggap itong trabahong ito..."

Then once more touched upon the Kapuso actor.

"Kaya lang etong si Paolo, kaya ito'y sinisigawan talaga ng mga bashers, kasi nga wala siyang sustento kay Summer. Di ba? Dagdag-dagdag ang trabaho niya, wala pa rin siyang sustento. Ano 'to? Yun ang kanilang punto," she added.

"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. "Eat Bulaga" went back live on air with its new lineup of hosts.

In its episode on Monday, Paolo Contis, Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, Cassy Legaspi, Mavy Legaspi and Alexa Miro were unveiled as the hosts. Meanwhile, multiple trending topics related to the show also landed spots on Twitter.

Dapitan City Mayor Seth Frederick "Bullet" Jalosjos, the finance director of Television and Production Exponents, Inc. (TAPE Inc.), also shared a series of posts about "Eat Bulaga." His posts on Instagram Stories showed behind-the-scenes videos of the program's live episode on Monday. It also showed parts from the said hosts' opening number along with the local girl group XOXO.
