Paolo Contis was interviewed by Nelson Canlas, in the latter's podcast "Updated with Nelson Canlas."

In the interview, Paolo explained it very simply as to why he fell in-love with Yen.

He said that when the issue with LJ spread and was made known, his friends left him and it was only Yen who stayed.

The actor clarified though that he is not angry with his friends, but he has "tampo" towards them, and even said that they were like netizens who did not even hear his side.

"Sobrang simpleng bagay lang. When the whole thing started, the whole crucifixion started, there was a time or there was every opportunity, she had every opportunity to tell me or to leave but she stayed," said Pao.

He also highlighted that it was also a hard time for Yen, who was dragged into the controversy and was even compelled to rest from social media because of him.

"Nung kumalat... ako kumbaga hindi mo ba mamahalin yon?," said Paolo.

"During the time some of my friends, some of the people who actually believe me were leaving someone stayed," he noted about the actress.
