Kiray Celis impressed many people after a video of her giving P1 million in cash to her mother, Meriam Celis, went viral. Unfortunately, some netizens speculated that the video was staged to earn views, and that she did not really give that much money to her mom.

In an interview with KAMI, Kiray denied the critics’ accusation that her kind gesture toward her mother was fake. According to Kiray, she prepared that P1 million in cash long before the video was taken, saying that she decided to give the money to her mom on the latter’s birthday to make the occasion extra special.

”Yung 1 million po, matagal ko na po yung gusto ibigay kay mama... Tinaon ko lang po na birthday niya mismo ko binigay para po mas lalong siyang maging masaya sa kaarawan niya,” Kiray shared.

The comedienne added that her mother decided to use the P1-million gift for the construction of a house in their empty lot. Once the construction is finished, their family is planning to have it rented for extra income. Furthermore, Kiray is planning to give even more money to her mom for the house’s construction.

“Kasi matagal na naka-tengga yung bakanteng lote na binili ko rin po sa kanya… Kaya abangan niyo po yung bago namin bahay na paupahan. Para makita niyo yung bunga ng 1M.

”Balak ko pa nga po itong dagdagan pa para mas mapabilis at mapaganda po ito. Pero speaking of bahay, the next day na ginawa ni mama nung nakuha 1M is sinimulan niya na agad mag canvas at pagtingin ng materyales at naghahanap napo ng mga maggagawa. Kasi super excited po siya talaga dito,” the actor explained.

Kiray Celis is an actor and comedienne who started as a Kapamilya child actress and then later transferred to GMA Network. She became famous when she joined the ABS-CBN show "Goin’ Bulilit". Kiray was on that show until she graduated in 2009. Later on, Kiray became a big star on social media.

In other news, Kiray revealed in an interview with Paolo Contis that she’s not in favor of a ‘live-in setup.’ According to the comedienne, she doesn’t want to live together with a man under one roof without marriage. She also said that for now, settling down or having a baby is not among her priorities as she wants to help her family first. The comedienne then expressed gladness that her boyfriend, Stephan Estopia, understands her position well.

KAMI also reported that Kiray took to Instagram and shared a photo of her boyfriend, Stephan, holding several bags of luxury brands. In the caption, she said that Stephan gave her the luxurious items because she mentioned that she does not want flowers. The comedienne also told her boyfriend that she loves him in the post. Kiray noted that she does not want to talk or post about it because she knows that somebody would be envious.
