Direk Joel Lamangan, in an interview with Manay Cristy Fermin on Cristy Ferminute, expressed his opinion that fellow director, Darryl Yap, is just being dictated on by a few as to what story he should make.

The famous director said that there are two truths, one that seeks to serve only a few and another that seeks to serve the many.
“Alam mo dalawa ang katotohanan Cristy at Rommel. Yung katotohanan na nagsisilbi sa kokonting tao. At yung katotohanan na nagsisilbi sa napakaraming tao,” Direk Joel said.
He also said that unlike the likes of Direk Darryl, he is on the side of truth that seeks to serve a lot of people.

Direk Joel also revealed that the likes of the young director were just being dictated on by a few.
“Doon ako nagsisilbi sa interes ng napakaraming tao, hindi ng kokonting tao na idinidikta lang sa kanila kung ano ang istoryang dapat nilang gawin,” the famous director said.

Darryl, during the grand media conference of his movie ‘Martyr or Murderer’, said that Direk Joel Lamangan and Cherry Pie Picache were both liars. Direk Darryl said that the claims of Direk Joel and Cherry Pie about him releasing ‘Martyr or Murderer’ to counter the latter’s movie, ‘Oras de Peligro’, is not true. The controversial director went on to say that Direk Joel and Cherry Pie were allegedly liars for making such a claim. He also called the two allegedly having thick faces for trying to make fools of Filipinos.
He also wasn’t able to hide the disgust in his voice while making a statement about Direk Joel Lamangan and Cherry Pie Picache. He made the statement right after the grand media conference of the movie ‘Martyr or Murderer’. In his statement, the controversial director claimed that the two are badmouthing his producers, VIVA’s Vic Del Rosario and Sen. Imee Marcos. Direk Darryl said that the two shouldn’t dare malign his bosses because they’re good people.
