Jed Madela revealed during an interview with Toni Gonzaga in "Toni Talks" that there was a time in 2021 that he thought of giving up singing because he felt that he was not happy anymore and that the music industry does not need him anymore.
He admitted that he felt that the industry preferred the new and younger ones.
"There are times pag may bago nang artist na dumating, everybody goes crazy over that artist, and then nasa-shove aside ako, or feeling ko lang," he said during the interview.
There even came a point that he asked himself if it was still worth it to keep singing.

The singer then shared that sometimes, perhaps, all he wanted was to hear a simple "thank you" because he felt that after having done everything, he just gets unnoticed.
He clarified though that he did not want people to think that he's "maarte."
Jed Madela is a Filipino singer, recording artist, songwriter, and TV host. He became well-known for being the first Filipino to win the World Championships of Performing Arts title.
Jed did not hold back to share his thoughts about missing the BTS concert in Los Angeles, CA. According to the famous singer, he already had a ticket for the show but he was told that he had work commitments so he didn't go. What's more saddening is when he found out that the said work commitments were eventually canceled. As he opened up about it on Twitter, many netizens replied to his post to comfort him.
