Xian said such parents should teach their children to be always grateful.

“Turuan natin yung mga bata na maging grateful kahit gaano pa kaliit yung matanggap nilang aguinaldo. When you say ‘Kuripot ng ninang mo, anak! Bente lang! Nubayan!’. They will grow up as ungrateful kids who expect and demand more from other people.”

“Ito yung Christmas environment na kinalakihan ng mga taong financially dependent sa kanilang mga kamag-anak. Na para bang obligasyon niyong lahat na buhayin sila,” he frankly said.

Furthermore, Xian said grateful kids would grow up independent.

“If you will teach the kiddos na maging grateful sa lahat ng pagkakataon no matter how small it is, lalaki silang independent without expecting any financial support from others.”
