Cristy Fermin recently had commentary on Toni Gonzaga’s silence amid the bashings she has been receiving after Shopee hired her as its new endorser.

In the latest episode of “Showbiz Now Na,” Cristy brought up how the actress and TV host remains “unbothered” despite the backlash.

“Ang kaso, na-master na raw po niya ang dedmatolgy 101. At ang tawag sa kanya ngayon, unbothered queen,” said Cristy.

This prompted the veteran showbiz columnist to recall how Toni also garnered criticisms because of her political leanings.

“Kampanya pa lamang po ay alam naman natin kung papanong pinaliguan na po siya ng akusasyon ng mga kalaban niya't hindi kakulay.”

Furthermore, Cristy stressed that Toni should not be the one to blame for the e-commerce giant’s employee layoffs.

“Nasabay kasi e du'n sa pagtatanggal ng mga tao na may dahilan naman ang tagapamuno, ang pamunuan ng Shopee kung bakit sila magtatanggal. Siguro naman po walang hindi apektado nitong pandemya. Lahat naman. Nagkataon lamang po na biglang pumasok si Toni Gonzaga bilang bagong tagapag-endorso ng Shopee.”

“Wala siyang kinalaman. Anong kasalanan ng isang personalidad na kinuha ng Shopee para maging tagapag-endorso. Wala 'yun sa usapan. Ni hindi nga siguro niya alam na nagkaroon ng retrenchment e,” Cristy stressed.

Toni Gonzaga, or Celestine Cruz Gonzaga-Soriano in real life, is a famous actress, television host, and YouTube star in the Philippines.
