Shawie got the chance to hold the hand of Cherie, and the latter could be seen seemingly trying to grasp the hand of the Megastar as well.

Cherie Gil is a multi-awarded film and TV actress. She was best known for her role as Lavinia Arguelles in "Bituing Walang Ningning."

Kiko Pangilinan took to Instagram and paid tribute to Cherie Gil, his wife's best friend. The former senator thanked Cherie for the love and the friendship that she has nurtured with Sharon Cuneta. He said that the family is deeply saddened by her passing. Kiko also expressed his condolences to both the Eigenmann and the Rogoff families.

Sharon Cuneta took to Instagram and shared the things that she learned from the death of Cherie Gil. The Megastar said that life is too short not to allow oneself to be happy. Shawie shared that she once read that on one's deathbed, one will not regret the things that one did but those things that one did not do. Sharon then continued by saying, "Cannot keep making others happy at the expense of your own happiness."
