Vhong Navarro may soon be facing rape charges in court once a prosecutor is assigned to his case and acts on the order handed down by a superior court.

In a report by Inquirer, the Court of Appeals (CA) has directed the Prosecutor’s Office in Taguig City to file rape and acts of lasciviousness charges against Ferdinand “Vhong” Navarro.
The superior court’s order reversed and set aside an earlier ruling by the Department of Justice dismissing the complaint filed against Vhong.
The issue stemmed from the complaint filed by Deniece Milinette Cornejo who alleged that the actor-comedian and TV host raped her.

According to ABS-CBN, Deniece, in her modified complaint, alleged that Vhong raped her on January 17, 2014 during their first meeting.
The complaint was dismissed by the DOJ citing “major inconsistencies” in the complaint filed against the actor-comedian.
The camp of Deniece has appealed the DOJ ruling and on July 21, the CA handed down its decision setting aside the earlier ruling.
In a report by Rappler, the CA’s 14th Division reversed the earlier DOJ resolutions in the years 2018 and 2020.
The CA also ordered the City Prosecutor of Taguig City to file rape and acts of lasciviousness charges against Vhong.
Vhong Navarro is a Filipino comedian, actor, dancer, singer, judge, and TV host of ABS-CBN Entertainment Groups. He is part of the dance group Street boys in the Philippines. He is currently hosting the noontime variety show, It's Showtime.
Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee were found guilty by the court for grave coercion, in a case filed by Vhong Navarro. The actor became emotional because of the decision of the court on the accused. This was in relation to the mauling incident along with the threats on Vhong by the group of Cedric and Deniece at the condominium of Deniece in Taguig.
The camp of Cedric Lee and Deniece Cornejo questioned the decision of the judge. They want the judge to be removed from the judiciary who handed a guilty verdict on them. The case was grave coercion filed by Vhong Navarro.
