Herlene Budol’s Higantes Festival-themed costume that she will use as her national costume in the Bb Pilipinas pageant is creating a buzz on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

The manager of the Bb Pilipinas candidate, Wilbert Tolentino, said that her national costume weighs three times more than Herlene’s weight.

He also revealed that the said costume is one of the most expensive to be used by a Bb Pilipinas candidate.

“National costume niya magtatatak sa kanya kasi isa siya sa pinaka-expensive na costume at siyempre kilala ang Angono na Art Capital of the Philippines,” Wilbert said during an ambush interview with some members of the media.

The national costume of Herlene is designed by Pinoy fashion designer, Patrick Isorena, and her cape was hand-painted by an Angono-based visual artist named Ebok Sausa Pinpiño.

The 58th Bb Pilipinas pageant coronation night will be held on July 31, Sunday, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines.

Herlene Nicole Budol, also known as Hipon Girl, is a comedian, actress, and a host in now-defunct Kapuso show "Wowowin". Hipon gained popularity when she joined Willie of Fortune. Willie Revillame decided then to make her a regular co-host of the show.

Herlene likewise showed a sketch of a costume called “Gandang Hipon” but it is not clear if this costume is the one she will be wearing in the said exhibit.
