Gerald Anderson was asked by Manila Bulletin if a person should forgive his or her partner who cheated in their relationship.

According to Gerald, it is difficult to forgive a cheating partner because the trust has been broken.
However, a cheating partner who wants to reconcile with the partner he or she cheated on should do everything to earn back the trust.
The actor added that it is possible to forgive a cheater but it is extremely difficult to do so.

“Mahirap yun. That’s hard kasi nasira na ’yung trust eh, kumbaga may lamat na ’yun eh.
“You just have to earn the trust again, start from zero, hindi lang zero, negative pa ’yan, di ba? Kailangan mong patunayan uli ’yung sarili mo…
“Kaya naman, but hindi siya madali,” Gerald told Manila Bulletin.
The interview came out after the nation got shocked due to Jason Hernandez announcing his breakup with his wife, Moira dela Torre, as reported by Rappler.
In a report by Inquirer, Jason revealed that the breakup happened after he admitted to Moira that he became unfaithful during their marriage.
Gerald Anderson is a Filipino-American actor and endorser. He broke through in showbiz by joining “Pinoy Big Brother.” The star made headlines last year after he got accused of cheating on Bea Alonzo with actress Julia Barretto. Both Gerald and Julia have denied this accusation.
As previously reported by KAMI, Gerald and Julia finally confirmed that they are a couple. Most netizens congratulated them but some people still bashed them due to their controversy with Bea.
Gerald and Julia also went viral after the actress’s mother, Marjorie Barretto, uploaded a video of the celebrity couple. It turned out that Marjorie was visited in her home by Julia and Gerald. Based on their social media posts, the Barretto family seems to have welcomed Gerald with open arms.
