Senator-elect Chiz Escudero recently shared a post paying tribute to Susan Roces.

KAMI learned that on his Instagram account, the politician posted photos of himself and his wife at the late Philippine film icon’s wake.
In the caption, he wrote, “Ang pagpanaw ng nag-iisang Reyna ng Pelikulang Pilipino ay nag-iwan ng isang malaking puwang sa puso ng kanyang mga kapamilya, kaibigan, at tagahanga.”
“On a personal level, kami ni Heart ay lubos na nalulungkot sa kanyang pagyao.”
Chiz also aired sincere condolences to the bereaved family members of the veteran actress.
“Sa buong pamilya Sonora-Poe, lalo na kay Sen. Grace Poe at ang kanyang buong pamilya, ang aming taos pusong pakikiramay.”
“Rest in peace, Ninang,” he added.
Susan Roces was a Filipina actress who became the main cast of John en Shirley until 2007. She married “Da King” on December 25, 1968, and adopted a daughter who is now Senator Grace. In 2004, FPJ died at the age of 65 after suffering from a stroke and was later on described by doctors as multiple organ failure.
Susan Roces passed away at the age of 80 as confirmed by her nephew, Lawrence Sonora Cruz. Lawrence took to Facebook to express his grief over the passing of the movie queen.
ABS-CBN then released on its social media pages and website a statement about the sad news. It says that the “ABS-CBN family and the entire cast and crew of 'FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano' led by Coco Martin deeply mourn the passing” of the legendary actress. It likewise sent sincere condolences to Sen. Grace Poe and her family.
Furthermore, ABS-CBN also vowed to "continue to honor her legacy as the Queen of Philippine Movies and as one of the beloved pillars of the entertainment industry."
