Veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin confirmed what Ogie Diaz has been claiming all along about their long working hours each day.

The said claim has become controversial and sometimes subjected to ridicule by some netizens after political candidates and supporters, like Ogie, claimed they work 16 to 18 hours a day.

Manay Cristy attested to the claim, saying that even in the past, they had to work 18 hours daily in order to complete the content of their magazine.

“Ang dami dami kasing trabaho. Pag proofreader ka, mahirap,” Manay Cristy said.

Ogie then reiterated what he’s been claiming all along about long working hours.

“Tama ako diba? More than 18 hours tayong mag-work,” Ogie asked, to which Manay Cristy answered: “Totoo. Tinatapos namin.”

The veteran showbiz columnist then gave a message to those who doubt about long working hours.

“Kaya yung mga nagsasabi na hindi totoo yung mga nagtatrabaho ng 18 hours, kalokohan yun. Isinasara namin ang isang magasin in 18 hours,” Manay Cristy said.

Cristinelli Fermin, more popularly known as Cristy Fermin, is a Pinay talk show host and showbiz columnist. She attended and finished her Journalism degree at the Lyceum of the Philippines University. Her first journalistic foray was into the political scene, but soon after, she started writing about celebrities and movie stars. Her TV debut was with GMA’s Movie Magazine where she was the main host. She also hosted with Butch Francisco a Sunday talk show titled “Showbiz Lingo.” She later hosted the daily talk program Cristy Per Minute and was regarded then as the “Queen of Intrigues.”

In the same interview, the veteran showbiz columnist, through her own narration, inadvertently revealed the huge role she played in the entry of Ogie Diaz into the showbiz industry. She narrated the details of the events, which eventually helped open many opportunities for Ogie in the entertainment world. She revealed that she was of the opinion at first that the talent manager only wanted a job, but realized later that what he really wanted was a career in writing. At the time, Ogie received a salary of twenty pesos daily but on special occasions like Christmas, he would receive fifty pesos.

Meanwhile, in the latest episode of Manay Cristy’s own online program 'Showbiz Now Na', she revealed that Toni Gonzaga and her husband, Paul Soriano, sat down in a meeting with Willie Revillame. The veteran columnist expressed her opinion that the subject of the meeting may have something to do with Toni’s exit from Pinoy Big Brother. She also speculated about the possibility of the TV host and actress transferring to AMBS, the network owned by the Villars that is rumored to be headed by Willie.
