According to GMA News, it was established later that the car belonged to Gerald.
In an interview with the executive officer of the NBI Special Action Unit (SAU), Atty. Kristine Dela Cruz said they were able to obtain information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspects.
Dela Cruz of the NBI SAU said.
“Nagkaroon kami ng surveillance and tracing operations hanggang natunton namin yung bahay ng isa sa mga napuntahan ng gamit ni Gerald Anderson,” she added.
One of the suspects who surrendered to authorities admitted he was the one who smashed the window and went inside the car.
“Naghahanap po kami ng madidiskartehan ng pera. Hindi po namin sadya na makita yung sasakyan ni Sir Gerald Anderson,” the suspect said.
He added that when he looked at the bag and saw it contained money he estimated to be not less than P20K, he took it.
The NBI SAU said the suspects have pending cases and some of them have already served jail time.
For his part, Gerald thanked the authorities who helped identify the suspects and recover some of his things.
The authorities are still hot on the trail of some suspects and are yet to recover some other things owned by Gerald, such as ID’s passports, and other documents.
