Ernesto Fajardo, more popularly known as Don Pepot, a veteran comedian, has died on Tuesday evening, Jan. 18, at the age of 88.

His daughter, Michelle Fajardo, confirmed the sad news to Super Radyo DZBB. He died at the Veteran Memorial Hospital.

According to GMA News' report, the veteran comedian died of severe pneumonia, a complication of COVID-19.

Among the most notable roles of Don Pepot was in "John and Marsha," as well as the one in "Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako."

In a Facebook post, his son, Michael Fajardo gave tribute to their beloved father and also the details on the important dates.

"Our beloved Ernesto "Don Pepot" Fajardo passed away yesterday at 8:32pm due to acute respiratory failure; covid confirmed critical. His wake will be at Solennelle Funeral Homes at Valenzuela, along Maysan Road.
January 20, 2022 - Day 1: Family members only
January 21, 2022 - Day 2: Relatives & Friends
January 22, 2022 - Day 3: Open to the Public
Eternal rest grant unto him O'Lord. May his soul rest in peace. We love you, papang!"
