The Miss Universe Philippines 2021 shared about it during Boy Abunda’s recent interview with her about her Miss Universe 2021 journey.
"You were on stage, top 16 Miss Universe 2021. Did you expect to be called as part of the Top 10?" the King of Talk asked the Cebuana beauty queen.
“With my performance naman po sa swimsuit competition, I'm really confident that I will be part of the Top 10. Kasi alam ko I'm one of the girls who has the best walks. I'm confident with that one. Mama J (mentor Jonas Antonio Gaffud) told me na I'm one of the Miss Philippines representatives that has the best walks, so medyo naging confident po ako do'n.”

She then went on to open up how having leg gap made her insecure before.
“Even the girls, they told me, kasi sila they went through trainings and all but they were still so impressed with my walk and I'm very proud of that kasi I used to be so insecure about my legs and people told me that I should walk a certain way to hide my leg gap. So, for years po, sobrang insecure ko do'n.”
“This one girl, isang delegate, I think that was Miss Ghana who told me na, 'Girl, you should have your legs insured.' Sabi ko, 'Ha, bakit?' Sabi niya, 'You walk really beautifully, so you should be confident with it.' And, dahil sinabi niya 'yon, mas na-boost 'yung confidence ko and I know that it was one of my strongest weapons for that competition.”
Boy then commended Bea for embracing her imperfection and use it as her strength.
"Ganda, nakaka-inspire 'yung sinabi mo Bea. Because a leg gap has always been source of insecurity until you embraced it and use it as part of your strength because nobody walks like you"

Beatrice Luigi Gomez became well-known after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant. The Cebu representative bested well-known candidates such as Asia's Next Top Model season 5 winner Maureen Wroblewitz and former PBB housemate Kisses Delavin. She is also a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and had a former girlfriend named Kate Jagdon. Bea concluded her Miss Universe 2021 journey in the Top 5.
Bea shared with Boy Abunda why she was smiling the entire time she was doing her pasarela in the preliminary swimsuit competition. According to her, she was just so happy at that time and Marian Rivera was one of the reasons. "I saw her cheering kahit hindi daw pwede," Bea said on Marian.
The Cebuana beauty queen admitted in an interview that she felt nervous during the pageant's question-and-answer portion. Despite being tensed during her Q&A moment, Bea said she is satisfied with her answer.
