Presidential candidate Isko Moreno bravely asked the BSP as to the reason why they opted to erase the faces of the heroes on the P1000 bill after it released the new version of the bill.

This time around, they replaced it with the Philippine eagle. According to Isko why would they erase the faces of the heroes, why can't they compromise.

For Isko, it doesn't mean that the Philippine eagle could not be added anymore.

"Pwede naman sa kabila andun pa rin yung ating mga heroes tapos yung sa kabila yung ating national treasure, mga mahahalagang bagay o unique sa bansa natin eh andun pa rin katulad ng agila," said Isko, as per Inquirer's report.

“I would rather have our heroes there (on the P1,000 bill)," said Mayor Isko, indicating that the three faces should be retained, according to ABS-CBN's report.

He also said that it is okay to adopt different cultures, it must not be allowed that Filipinos will forget their own culture, and the heroes, GMA News stated.

The three national heroes on the P1,000 bill are Chief Justice Jose Abad Santos, Josefa Llanes Escoda and Vicente Lim.

Isko Moreno is a politician and a former actor who is currently the Mayor of Manila. He is married to Diana Lynn Ditan and they have five children. The popular mayor is tagged by voters as a potential frontrunner in the 2022 Presidential Elections.

Mayor Isko Moreno has replied to the recent comment of showbiz columnist Lolit Solis that it’s too early for him to run for president. In reply, the Manila local chief executive said that, in life, he’s very persistent and that he still has several months remaining to convince Nay Lolit. He said this during the media conference of the movie, ‘Yorme: The Isko Domagoso Story.’ Earlier, Nay Lolit said that Mayor Isko can run for president but not now as she’s voting for Bongbong Marcos.

She also took to Instagram to praise Mayor Isko Moreno, who is running in next year’s presidential elections. The showbiz columnist said that she was impressed with the answers of the mayor during the press conference for his movie, “Yorme.” Nay Lolit also took note that the movie’s director did not attempt to steal the limelight from Mayor Isko and was content to just be in a corner. In her post, Lolit said that the story of Mayor Isko is one where many lessons can be learned.
