Beatrice Luigi Gomez’s answer during the question-and-answer portion of Miss Universe 2021 for its Top 5 candidates gained praises from Dra. Vicki Belo.
To recall, the celebrity doctor was among the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 judges held last September 30 at the Henann Resort Convention Center in Alona Beach, Panglao, Bohol, Philippines.
On her Instagram page, Vicki posted a video showing French model Iris Mittenaere, Miss Universe 2016, asking the Philippines’ bet about her opinion on mandating COVID-19 vaccinations.

To which Bea answered, “I believe that public health is everyone’s responsibility, and to mandate vaccine inoculation is necessary. If mandating vaccine passports would help us in regulating the rollouts of the vaccine, and mitigate the situation of the pandemic today, then I would agree on mandating the necessary passport of vaccination. Thank you.”
In the caption, Vicki described Bea’s response as “brave” and “unmemorized”.

Beatrice Luigi Gomez became well-known after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant. The Cebu representative bested well-known candidates such as Asia's Next Top Model season 5 winner Maureen Wroblewitz and former PBB housemate Kisses Delavin. She is also a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and had a former girlfriend named Kate Jagdon.
Bea concluded her Miss Universe 2021 journey in the Top 5. Harnaaz Sandhu of India won the prestigious Miss Universe 2021 held in Israel. The Indian beauty queen was emotional after learning that she won the crown. Miss Paraguay Nadia Ferreira was first runner-up and Miss Africa Lalela Mswane was second runner-up.
