John Lloyd Cruz finally revealed the reasons why he took a break from the entertainment scene and moved to El Nido in Palawan.
The actor, in October of 2017, without stating his reasons to the public took an “indefinite leave of absence” from showbiz.
He returned to the entertainment scene only this year and signed up a new contract with GMA Network.
Until his interview with multi-awarded veteran broadcaster Jessica Soho, the actor have been largely silent on why he suddenly took a break from showbiz.

“It was the right time to be kind to myself, to start some healing. It was the right time to start the journey of unlearning,” the actor said during the interview.
He said before he took a break, he was working for about two decades without letup.
“Prior to that, mga dalawang dekada akong kayod nang kayod,” Lloydie said.
JLC then moved to El Nido, where he tried to live a simple life.
Regine, an El Nido resident, who was interviewed by ‘Kapuso mo, Jessica Soho,’ revealed that Lloydie would often eat in her “karinderya.”
She said that JLC appeared shy and often had his cap on, though he gradually opened up to locals and started talking to them.
“Nagpa-picture po kami tapos sobrang approachable nya. Nakausap pa namin siya sa phone kasi binigay niya number niya,” said another resident who goes by the name of Fatimah.
When asked why he chose El Nido, Lloydie said he found the place enchanting and believed it was his perfect place for refuge and healing.
John Lloyd Espidol Cruz, is a Pinoy actor, occasional TV host, and model. He was born on June 24, 1983 in Pasay City, Philippines. JLC is an alumnus of Star Magic’s Batch 5. He is now under Crown Artist Management. The actor is famous for his movie roles in One More Chance, A Very Special Love, Now That I Have You, and many more. JLC is also known for his roles in TV soaps like Maging Sino Ka Man, Imortal, I Love Betty La Fea, and It Might Be you. He has collaborated with several actresses in various movie and TV soaps, including Bea Alonzo, Sarah Geronimo, Toni Gonzaga, Angel Locsin, and Kaye Abad. He has several awards under his belt.
The actor, who was featured on “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” In the show’s 17th-anniversary episode last November 21, indicated that El Nido has a special place in his heart. As per KMJS’ Facebook post, the actor considers El Nido as his second home. It likewise uploaded photos showing glimpses of John Lloyd’s guesting on the program.
Another recent big news about John Lloyd is his reunion with on-screen partner, Bea Alonzo, in their upcoming comeback project, which made a lot of their fans feel elated. They recently filmed their new movie titled “One True Pair”, which will be released on December 1 on Jollibee Studios’ YouTube channel. On her Instagram page recently, Bea posted a video showing the scenes behind the shoot. Most of the scenes have showcased John Lloyd having fun while doing the project.
