Actress Bettina Carlos touched the hearts of many parents after opening up about an emotional conversation she recently had with her eldest daughter, Amanda Lucia, lovingly known as “Gummy.”

In a heartfelt social media post, Bettina recounted how Gummy unexpectedly shared her feelings while helping care for her newborn twin brothers, giving the actress a parenting lesson she says she will never forget.
The touching exchange happened while Gummy was carrying one of the twins as Bettina changed the other.
According to Bettina, her daughter quietly began the conversation by saying:

“Gummy made me cry last week.”
While helping with her younger brothers, Gummy opened up about emotions she had been carrying since the twins were born.
“Mom I have something to tell you…”
She admitted that she had initially been afraid the arrival of the twins would mean she would no longer have enough time with her mother.
“You know I had a fear that I wont be able to spend time with you because of the twins.”
Gummy also honestly confessed that she sometimes felt jealous whenever she saw Bettina intentionally setting aside time for her younger sister, Amina.
“And sometimes I feel jealous of Mina because you try to spend a lot of time with her, like ‘sana ako rin…’”
However, after reflecting on their daily life together, Gummy realized that meaningful moments are not limited to planned outings or special occasions.
“But then Mom you know I realized something: spending time is not just dates, going out, eating out, its also like this: while Im taking care of my brothers with you that we can talk and I can share our devos….”
Bettina admitted that hearing those words overwhelmed her with emotion.
As a mother still recovering after childbirth, she said her post-partum hormones immediately took over.
“To which my post-partum hormones responded with many many maaaany tears.”
She lovingly thanked her daughter for opening up and admitted that Gummy’s realization answered one of the biggest prayers she had throughout her pregnancy.
“Thank you anak. I feel so relieved hearing this from you.”
Bettina shared that before giving birth, she constantly prayed that becoming a mother to newborn twins would never prevent her from continuing to be a devoted wife to her husband Mikki Eduardo and a present mother to each of their children.
“My prayer when I was pregnant and especially when I give birth is that I’ll never stop being a wife to Daddy and mom to you and Min.”
She also expressed the deep longing many parents experience—the wish to somehow multiply themselves just to meet the needs of every child.
“And if only I could divide my body, multiply my time, stretch my energy, I would. Just to be able to spend time with all of you everyday and love you all specifically the way I know you all want to be loved.”
The actress acknowledged the physical and emotional exhaustion that naturally comes with caring for newborn twins, but said Gummy’s words reminded her that love can also be expressed through simple, everyday moments.
“So to hear that from you, that spending time can even be in everyday moments, that really relieved me and touched my heart.”
Reflecting further, Bettina realized she and her husband Mikki had spent so much effort making sure their toddler daughter, Amina Elizabeth, would not feel replaced after the arrival of the twins.
She explained that many parents had advised them to pay close attention to the toddler because newborn babies would not remember crying while waiting, but an older sibling might remember feeling overlooked.
Because of that advice, Bettina admitted she became intentional about giving Amina individual attention.
However, she eventually realized she had unintentionally overlooked another child who also needed reassurance.
“I was forgetting I still had another baby girl.”
Although Gummy is older and more mature, Bettina admitted she had mistakenly assumed her eldest daughter would naturally understand the changes happening in the family without struggling emotionally.
Instead, Gummy courageously shared that she also experienced moments of jealousy and longing for one-on-one time with her mother.
Bettina said she is deeply grateful that her daughter felt safe enough to honestly express those feelings rather than keep them hidden.
The actress also thanked God for giving Gummy the wisdom to recognize that love is often found in ordinary moments—through conversations while caring for siblings, sharing devotionals together, and simply being present in one another’s daily lives.
Amanda Lucia, affectionately called “Gummy,” was born in March 2011. Bettina later married Mikki Eduardo on December 2, 2020, and they welcomed their daughter, Amina Elizabeth, in December 2022. In July 2026, the couple announced another joyful milestone as they welcomed their twin sons, Juanito and Antonino, further expanding their growing family.
