The event held special significance for Yasmine as she was chosen to be one of the child’s godparents. Alongside the photos from the baptism, she posted a heartfelt reflection about friendship, faith, and a difficult season she recently experienced.
In her lengthy post, Yasmine revealed that she had gone through a period where she felt overwhelmed and hopeless.
“One day, I felt hopeless,” she wrote.

According to Yasmine, the emotional struggle eventually led her to prayer as she sought guidance regarding the people surrounding her family and the challenges they were facing.
“So I prayed my Novena and said, ‘Jesus, I don’t know what to do anymore. I don’t know what is right. Please keep away from me and my family those who have bad intentions, and bring closer to us the people who truly love us and have pure intentions,’” she recalled.
The wife of actor and Quezon City Councilor Alfred Vargas shared that shortly after offering that prayer, unexpected developments began to unfold.
“That same week, people I hadn’t spoken to for months, even years, started reaching out,” she wrote.
Yasmine added that she gradually realized that some individuals she once believed belonged in her life were not necessarily meant to remain there permanently.
“And little by little, Jesus removed the people I once thought were good for me but were never truly meant to stay in our lives,” she said.
The emotional reflection then shifted to her longtime friendship with Daniel, whose son was being baptized.
According to Yasmine, Daniel was one of the very first people she became close to when she arrived in the Philippines.
“When I first came to the Philippines, Daniel was my very first friend,” she shared.
She fondly remembered how Daniel and his family welcomed her warmly and made her feel at home during her early years in the country.
“His family welcomed me and took such good care of me,” she wrote.
Yasmine also reminisced about the many adventures they shared together, from spending time at his family’s restaurant and spa to going on food trips and even trekking in Cavinti on the way to Pagsanjan Falls while wearing clothes not exactly suited for hiking.
“I spent countless days at their restaurant and spa, eating way too much, going on random food trips and adventures, and even climbing down a mountain in Cavinti on the way to Pagsanjan Falls while wearing sneakers and jeans,” she recalled with humor.
Although life eventually took them in different directions, Yasmine said their friendship remained intact.
“Even though our paths eventually went in different directions, I still consider him one of my best friends, someone I know would never hurt me,” she wrote.
Seeing Daniel embrace fatherhood brought her genuine happiness, she added.
“Seeing you now as a father makes me genuinely happy. DJ is so blessed to have you, and I know he will grow up surrounded by so much love.”
Yasmine concluded her message by expressing gratitude for being chosen as the child’s godmother.
“I am truly honored and grateful to be chosen as his ninang,” she said.
