The actress recently uploaded photos from her trip to Hong Kong together with Gio, where eagle-eyed netizens quickly noticed that Cristine was wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring.

Adding more excitement to the buzz was Cristine’s caption, which many interpreted as a confirmation of their engagement.

The cryptic but heartfelt caption immediately sparked congratulations online, with fans and fellow celebrities flooding the comments section with messages of happiness and support for the couple.

In an older story shared by writer Noel Ferrer regarding Cristine and Gio’s unique history together, Cristine and Gio first crossed paths as children during a “marriage booth” activity while studying at Ateneo de Manila University. At the time, Gio was reportedly in Grade 6 while Cristine was in Grade 5.

“The couple’s history dates back to their childhood days at Ateneo de Manila University, where they first met at a marriage booth — Gio in Grade 6 and Cristine in Grade 5. They later reconnected, and their relationship blossomed,” Ferrer previously shared.

Meanwhile, reports from GMA News stated that Gio Tingson currently serves as the head of Grab’s Public Affairs and Government Relations division. Before joining Grab, Gio also held several key positions in government and politics. He previously served as chairperson of the National Youth Commission from 2014 to 2016. He also worked as Chief Political Officer for former senator Bam Aquino between 2016 and 2018 before later handling the Akbayan Citizens’ Action Party from 2018 to 2022.
