Wendy Valdez once again moved many netizens after sharing a deeply emotional update regarding her son Seth’s recovery following his recent surgery. In a lengthy social media post, the former Pinoy Big Brother: Season 2 housemate opened up about the difficult challenges Seth is currently facing after undergoing a major medical procedure connected to his condition, Spina bifida.

According to Wendy, Seth’s surgery was necessary because his condition and nerve-related complications were already affecting his bladder and kidneys.
“For those asking about the surgery, Seth needed a larger bladder to help protect his kidneys from damage caused by his condition (spina bifida) and nerve problems,” she explained.
The actress revealed that doctors enlarged Seth’s bladder by using part of his small intestine, which means two organs are now simultaneously healing inside his body.

“To enlarge the bladder, the surgeons had to use a part of his small intestines. So now he has two organs healing at the same time. His bladder and his small intestines,” Wendy wrote.
As part of the recovery process, Seth has been instructed to avoid both food and water for seven days to prevent pressure and expansion in the healing organs.
“He needs to go around 7 days without food and water so the intestines and bladder can heal properly without expanding,” Wendy shared.
The emotional mother admitted that Seth initially tried to remain brave and optimistic about the situation. However, the reality of the difficult fasting eventually became overwhelming for the young boy.
“At first, he tried to be brave about it and said he could do it. But last night he cried while thinking about not being able to eat or drink for a whole week,” she recalled.
Wendy emotionally shared that Seth told her he already wanted to drink water that same night, a moment she described as heartbreaking.
“That part broke me,” she admitted.
The actress said she struggled emotionally while trying to encourage her son to stay strong despite fully understanding how difficult the ordeal truly was.
“It was hard for me to keep telling him, ‘You can do it,’ because I know how difficult this really is. Kahit ako di ko kaya,” Wendy wrote.
Instead of pressuring him emotionally, Wendy said she encouraged Seth to focus on sleeping and resting so time would pass more quickly and his body could heal faster.
The actress also revealed that she secretly cried and prayed for strength during the difficult night.
According to Wendy, she found comfort in a Bible verse that previously gave her hope when doctors first explained the lifelong challenges Seth would face due to spina bifida.
She quoted Gospel of Matthew 6:34:
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Wendy explained that the verse reminded her to focus on surviving each day one step at a time instead of becoming overwhelmed by the entire week-long fasting process.
“If we think 7 days we really couldn’t handle it. Enough grace is given just for the day,” she reflected.
To help distract Seth from hunger and thirst, Wendy said they used their streaming account on the hospital television so he could watch shows and focus on something else.
“The next day we put our account on the smart TV, and he was able to pass time without thinking much about water and food,” she shared.
The actress expressed amazement at her son’s resilience and bravery throughout the recovery journey.
“I can’t believe how he is handling all these. Such unfathomable accomplishments. Praise be to God,” Wendy wrote.
She ended her update by requesting continued prayers for Seth, who still has several days remaining in his fasting period.
“Kanina sabi nya kakain daw sya ng sinigang na salmon kapag pwede na sya kumain,” she shared warmly.
