In her heartfelt post, Lara admitted that although it may not have been obvious physically, she had been struggling with rising cholesterol levels for years. According to the former beauty queen, doctors previously prescribed statins, but she remained determined to first try managing her condition through healthier habits and discipline.
She wrote: “Hindi lang halata, but for years, my cholesterol kept going up. I was prescribed statins before, but I really wanted to try bringing it down naturally. When we moved to Canada, our doctor said if my numbers didn’t improve, medication would be next.”
Lara then shared how difficult the process initially became, especially because of her love for food and the challenges of fasting. She revealed that even with the support of her husband and coach Marco Alcaraz, sticking to healthier routines was not always easy.

“So I made changes… or I tried.. ang hirap! Sarap kumain! Fasting was a struggle—even with my coach Marco beside me.”
The actress and motivational speaker explained that last month, she introduced two new daily habits into her routine: drinking tea and increasing her fiber intake. According to Lara, these small additions made a noticeable difference in both her cravings and overall progress.
“Last month, I added two simple daily habits: tea and fiber.
And for the first time, my numbers are finally going down.
Still not where I want them—but at least it’s moving in the right direction. Small daily choices really do add up.”
Lara emphasized that her progress did not happen overnight and clarified that there was no “magic” involved. Instead, she credited consistency and mindful choices for helping her improve her health little by little.
“It’s not magic, but taking the tea helped me with fasting and lessen my food cravings. The fiber helped me feel fuller and supports my cholesterol.”
The former Miss International titleholder also mentioned that many followers had been asking about the products they were using. She then encouraged interested supporters to send her or Marco a message if they wanted more details.
“I know we’ve been posting and a lot of you have been asking about the tea and fiber we’ve been using— we’d be happy to share what’s been working for us. Just send me or Marco a message or comment “TEA” 😊”
Toward the end of her post, Lara proudly celebrated another milestone in her fitness journey—her recent weight loss.
“Oh also! from 128 lbs, I’ve gone down to 121! hooray!”
