Filipino talent shone once again on Britain’s Got Talent as Kristel Herrera delivered a show-stopping performance that won unanimous approval from the judges.

Kristel recently appeared on the popular reality TV competition, introducing herself to judges KSI, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Stacey Solomon, who was temporarily filling in for Simon Cowell. Hailing from Halifax, West Yorkshire, Kristel shared that her “biggest dream is to perform in front of [King Charles].”

“I feel like today is my big day,” Kristel said confidently before launching into her rendition of Whitney Houston’s classic Run to You. Kristel’s soaring vocals and heartfelt delivery instantly captured the attention of the judges and the live audience.

The judges were visibly moved throughout her performance, culminating in a standing ovation by the end. KSI expressed his admiration, saying, “Honestly, like that was unbelievable. I mean, your husband must be over the moon being able to hear that every day of his life. I want to see more. I want to see more.”

Alesha shared similar praise: “Wow, wow, wow. Kristel, this is your year. That was sensational, absolutely outstanding. Your technique was ten out of ten. Absolutely fantastic. I loved it.”

Amanda added, “Honestly, I am blown away by that entire performance. And what I'm finding extraordinary is how, sort of, little and shrunk you are. And when you sang, you turned into a complete diva, baby.”

Stacey highlighted Kristel’s vocal control and stage presence: “I think I look at you and I don't think you realize just how incredible you are. The way you go from head voice to chest voice so effortlessly is unbelievable. And I really hope that you get more confidence because you're incredible.”

Following the performance, the judges unanimously voted 'yes,' securing Kristel a spot in the next round and moving her closer to the live semifinals.

Earlier, Filipino singer Matty Juniosa, a former contestant on Idol Philippines, received a standing ovation and the Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell after performing “Purple Rain” on Britain’s Got Talent. The 27-year-old singer, who has been living in Glasgow for the past three years, said he currently works part-time as a waiter while continuing to pursue his music career. He joined the competition to prove to himself that he is more than the setbacks he faced in past singing contests, including his stint on Idol Philippines in 2019.

Last year, Jessica Sanchez was crowned the winner of America’s Got Talent Season 20 while nine months pregnant, delivering powerful performances that impressed both judges and viewers. She returned to the AGT stage with a Golden Buzzer audition and later performed songs such as Beautiful Things and Ordinary while heavily pregnant. Freestyle rapper Chris Turner and singer Jourdan Blue finished as runners-up in the finale. With her victory, Jessica became the first former contestant to win the competition and the first female champion since 2017, inspiring many with her resilience and journey into motherhood.
