Nic Chien, the trans son of internationally acclaimed singer Lea Salonga, made headlines after his candid response to a question about religion and the LGBTQ+ community during his guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.

During the interview, host Boy Abunda asked Nic what he would say to people who believe that members of the LGBTQ+ community are destined for hell. Nic responded directly and emotionally, challenging the idea that gender identity and orientation are matters of choice.

“Screw you. Whoever thinks being gay or trans is a choice, no it’s not a choice.
