In a statement released on social media on Saturday, March 7, Anne explained that she chose to speak out not for drama or revenge, but to stand up for women watching and for future generations.

“Now, what I will carry is the responsibility to say clearly, on behalf of every woman who has ever been spoken this way: We deserve better. Not just now, while this topic is a hot issue, but EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Not just from Mr. Suntay. From all of it,” she stressed.

While rejecting Suntay’s non-apology, Anne said she accepted the apology offered by his wife and expressed understanding of what she might be feeling. She further explained that as both a mother and a wife, she empathizes with her, noting that she understands “exactly what she must be feeling.”

Anne concluded her post with a firm reminder of the broader significance of the conversation.

“And if anyone is wondering why Women's Month still matters - this is exactly why.”
