Eric Tai, popularly known as Eruption, took to social media to candidly share the ups and downs of his and wife Rona Tai’s health and fitness journey this 2026.

In a heartfelt post, Eric admitted that while it is only March, they are not yet where they want to be physically — but they remain committed to the process together.

“It’s only March 2026 and honestly we’re not exactly where we want to be, but we’re still working on it together. ♥️” he wrote.

The former rugby player did not sugarcoat their experience, revealing that the journey came with tough conversations, frustration, and differences in pacing, energy levels, eating habits, and training routines.

“Sa totoo lang, we’re not going to pretend it was smooth. There were tough conversations. Moments of frustration. Different pacing. Different energy. Different eating and training routines and even the food. She had her own timing and so did I.”

Eric acknowledged that many couples go through similar struggles, especially those dealing with medical challenges such as surgeries, miscarriages, or internal health issues. He stressed that faith played a major role in helping them push through.

“This is a sign that anything is possible with God on your side and believing in His timing. Trust me, this aint easy talaga… We just got to support them even thru their toughest and challenging times.”

He emphasized that health journeys can either divide couples or bring them closer — and they chose the latter.

“Health journeys can really either divide you or strengthen you. We chose to let it strengthen us… Because transformation isn’t really just about aesthetics. It’s about being healthy for our family. It’s about building a strong future. It’s about longevity, physically and spiritually in our marriage.”

Eric credited patience, unity, and putting God first as the foundation of their progress. He also shared practical advice, saying, “FASTING & CAL DEF IS KING! Don’t forget that! 👑”

Eric Tai, widely known by his screen name Eruption, is a Tongan-born Filipino personality who built his career as an actor, host, comedian, and former professional rugby union player. He rose to mainstream popularity through his stint on It’s Showtime and has remained active in entertainment and sports-related engagements. In March 2015, he married Rona Samson in a ceremony held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cubao, Quezon City.

Earlier, Rona Samson-Tai addressed critics on social media after receiving negative comments about her noticeable weight loss and cosmetic surgery. She shared before-and-after photos to highlight her transformation and admitted that not everyone had been supportive of her journey.
