According to Kuya Kim, the pain of losing a child is made heavier by the constant questions parents ask themselves.

“A part of a grieving parent, I say 50% is missing the child and then next 50% is ‘What if?’ That’s why it’s hard to lose a child eh because may ‘What if?’ Mas marami,” he said.

“True sa parent. May mga ‘What if?’ ‘yan ‘eh. ‘What if I did not say more I love you?’ A parent diba, ‘What if I did this she might still be alive.’”

Kuya Kim also revealed the difficulty of dealing with public judgment while going through a deeply personal tragedy, noting that both he and his daughter were public figures.

“For I am a public person and Emman’s a public person, ang daming mga condemning comments about how bad a parent I am yet had to deal with this as well.”

Despite the pain, the television host said his faith has been his anchor during this period of mourning.

“Again at the end of the day, here is the Lord. Mabuti na lang here is the Lord. Because without the Lord, my gosh, mahirap. ‘Di mo alam saan ako bubunutin. Buti na lang.”

His heartfelt statements resonated with many viewers and netizens, especially parents and individuals who have experienced loss, as he continues to speak openly about grief, mental health, and the role of faith in healing.
