Louise Delos Reyes has issued a stern warning to the public after a member of her family fell victim to an online scam involving a fake resort profile.

On her Instagram account on Friday, February 13, Louise shared a carousel post containing screenshots of a family member’s conversation with a scammer. In one of the slides, she detailed the specific incident and the vulnerability of certain demographics:

“SOMEONE IN OUR FAMILY GOT SCAMMED BY A GROUP PRETENDING TO BE THE FARM AT SAN BENITO. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM, ESPECIALLY FOR OLDER PEOPLE WHO HAVE LIMITED ACCESS TO OTHER PLATFORMS AND ARE MORE GULLIBLE ABOUT WHAT THEY SEE ONLINE, PARTICULARLY ON FACEBOOK,” she wrote.

Highlighting the manipulative nature of these online predators, Louise continued:

“THEY ARE THE MOST SUSCEPTIBLE TO THESE KINDS OF MANIPULATION AND SCAMS. AS A COMMUNITY, WE CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH TO PROTECT OUR PARENTS, TITOS, TITAS, LOLOS, AND LOLAS.”

The actress concluded her message with a plea for collective awareness to prevent other families from suffering similar distress:

“I HOPE NO ONE ELSE'S PARENTS HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THIS. LET'S STAY VIGILANT AND EXPOSE THESE PEOPLE.”

In the post's caption, Louise further urged her followers to look out for their elders. “Please stay vigilant. Scammers are now pretending to be trusted establishments online, and our elders are often the most vulnerable. Let’s protect our families and spread awareness,” she stated.

Louise echoed this sentiment in a follow-up on her Instagram Stories, where she succinctly wrote: “Stay vigilant. No to scammers!”
