On Thursday, January 8, Yasmien reposted on her Instagram Stories a video by @kabulastugan that humorously yet accurately depicted the congestion many Filipinos face during peak hours. “The government needs a proper plan for traffic and commuters in Metro Manila. Without long-term planning, the situation will only get worse… hurting businesses and making daily life harder for everyone,” she wrote, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the issue, noting that the worsening traffic affects not only daily commuters but also the broader economy.

She further highlighted a specific problem in the city’s infrastructure design, pointing out the contrast with other countries:

“The lack of urban planning is obvious, especially when train systems are built in the middle of highways, unlike in other countries where transport systems are well-planned and integrated.”

By using her platform to shed light on this everyday struggle, Yasmien joins a growing chorus of voices urging authorities to take decisive action to improve commuting conditions and the quality of urban life in the capital.
