On Thursday, December 18, TJ took to X, formerly Twitter, to greet everyone ahead of Christmas Day—except those creating unlicensed AI-generated music covers.
In the post, TJ wrote: “Merry Christmas sa lahat except sa mga gumagawa ng AI Covers na walang lisensya,” adding a “face with steam from nose” emoji, which typically conveys frustration or annoyance.
The statement highlights TJ’s growing stance against the unauthorized use of artificial intelligence in creating music covers. While AI-generated content has gained popularity for its convenience and novelty, artists like TJ emphasize the importance of respecting intellectual property rights. His post drew attention from followers, many of whom echoed his call for proper licensing and ethical practices in using AI technology.

TJ Monterde is a Filipino pop singer and songwriter, best known for his album Ikaw At Ako and his self-titled extended play (EP). Aside from his achievements in the music industry, he has also built a career as a radio and television host. He is married to fellow singer KZ Tandingan. The couple first crossed paths through mutual friends in the music industry, including Martin Nievera and Kedevon, which eventually led to their relationship.
In a previous report by KAMI, TJ and KZ surprised their Sarili Nating Mundo world tour team after successfully completing 40 shows across the globe. Each team member received ₱100,000 through a scratch card reveal shared on TikTok, capturing the emotional and heartfelt moment. The announcement sparked cheers, hugs, and tears as the team celebrated their remarkable achievement together. TJ later publicly thanked everyone, praising their dedication, hard work, and commitment throughout the entire tour, highlighting his deep appreciation for the team’s efforts and support.
In a recent appearance on SB19’s Time First podcast, KZ opened up about her views on parenthood, revealing that she is not yet ready to become a mother. She emphasized that her decision is a conscious choice, as she does not want to be pressured by societal expectations. KZ shared her concerns about potential regrets if she were to put her career on hold and the fear of not being able to devote enough time to a child while still pursuing her professional goals. Despite this, she remains faithful, believing that if parenthood is part of God’s plan, it will happen at the right time.
