“Who would think that someone so small could fill an entire home with love—could break a bad spell in an instant and save a family in moments of weariness? Only God knows how your tiny soul and tender spirit managed to do all that for 14 beautiful years.
Thanking you feels like admitting that your essence has left our lives, yet I still feel the joy and the countless favors you gave me, even now, in this time of grief. We love you, and that’s all I want to say.
Sending all our love into the air, hoping it reaches your essence wherever you are. Feel my pat now. You are such a good girl.”
John Arcilla is a well-known Filipino actor and environmental advocate who has worked in movies, TV, and theater with many powerful and memorable roles. He became widely loved for portraying General Antonio Luna in the film Heneral Luna, and he later made history by winning Best Actor at the 78th Venice Film Festival for On the Job: The Missing 8.
In a past report by KAMI, John shared his thoughts about people reading and keeping private messages. He said he didn’t want to judge anyone since he didn’t see everything, but he wondered why the messages were not deleted if there was no bad intention. To him, it looked like someone may have wanted to stir trouble.
Earlier, John also spoke up about how people were paying more attention to Carlos Yulo’s family issues than to his incredible achievement of winning two Olympic gold medals. In a long Instagram post, he encouraged Filipinos to celebrate Yulo’s success instead of focusing on drama, and he reminded everyone about the value of “self-regulation,” something he learned while studying mass communication. He also left a straightforward message that seemed directed at the media, urging them not to sensationalize stories.
