According to a report by Frontline Tonight, she received a call from someone pretending to be a bank employee. The caller instructed her to transfer all the funds from her bank account to a specified account, promising that the money would be returned within 15 minutes. Trusting the caller, Kween Yasmin followed the instructions, only to fall victim to the scam.

In 2020, Filipino vlogger Yasmin Asistido, better known as "Kween Yasmin," sought help from Ben Tulfo after reportedly becoming a victim of fake news. False reports circulated claiming that she had COVID-19, and some even went as far as saying she was on the verge of death, which was untrue. On the show, Tulfo advised the vlogger on how she should respond to her bashers.
