Hours ago, Kuya Kim Atienza and his wife released a joint statement confirming the unexpected passing of their daughter Emman Atienza.
The couple shared the news on social media, expressing their deep sorrow over the unexpected loss and remembering Emman for the joy and love she brought into their lives. They described her as someone who made others feel seen and heard and who courageously shared her journey with mental health, helping many people feel less alone.
Their statement read: “It’s with deep sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our daughter and sister, Emman.
She brought so much joy, laughter, and love into our lives and into the lives of everyone who knew her. Emman had a way of making people feel seen and heard, and she wasn’t afraid to share her own journey with mental health. Her authenticity helped so many feel less alone.
To honor Emman’s memory, we hope you carry forward the qualities she lived by: compassion, courage, and a little extra kindness in your everyday life.

Kim Atienza, popularly known as 'Kuya Kim,' is a well-known Filipino television host, weather presenter, and public figure. He first rose to fame as a host and segment anchor on ABS-CBN's Matanglawin, an educational program focused on science, nature, and animals. He also became widely recognized as the resident weather presenter of TV Patrol, where his informative yet friendly delivery made him a household name. Aside from weather and science segments, Kuya Kim has hosted and appeared in numerous TV shows, showcasing his versatility and charisma. In 2021, he transferred to GMA Network, where he continues to host lifestyle and informative programs such as Dapat Alam Mo! and appear on 24 Oras as one of the show's segment hosts.
