”Last July 16 is the feast day of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel,” Candy began, recalling how the parish has been a spiritual home to her family, especially her mother, who has served the church for over 40 years through formation programs, outreach, charismatic groups, and parish events. She acknowledged that while the Church is a place of faith and healing, it is not without flaws. “Is there discrimination in Church? I think in all places there are. I have experienced it. My son has experienced it. God sees it. He never discriminates,” she wrote.

Despite facing judgment and prejudice, Candy shared that she remains committed to her faith, choosing to serve God through His people and using her journey with Quentin as a testimony of God’s mercy and love. She recalled witnessing both transformation and human flaws within the Church — from gossip, vanity, and favoritism, to moments of deep healing and conversion. “The Church is not perfect. But, God’s love is perfect. God’s mercy is perfect,” she affirmed.

Candy ended her post by revealing a personal realization — that her full name, Carmela, ties her in spirit to Mt. Carmel itself, which she believes is no coincidence. She expressed gratitude for their place in the parish, sharing that her son Quentin now serves faithfully at the church’s 7 a.m. Mass daily. “Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, pray for us,” she wrote, offering a humble and moving conclusion to her reflection — one that has resonated deeply with fellow believers and parents alike.
