Jennylyn Mercado’s manager addresses actress’ absence in GMA station ID

Actress Jennylyn Mercado trended on social media after netizens noticed that she was missing from the 2024 GMA station ID. For this reason, netizens started to speculate about the Kapuso star, with some wondering if she was not a Kapuso any longer.

On Instagram, Jennylyn’s manager Becky Aguila, founder of Aguila Entertainment, addressed the issue head on.

Becky clarified that Jennylyn is still a Kapuso and that she was not in the GMA station ID only because she was unavailable when the shoot took place, explaining that GMA invited her to the shoot.

“I just want to clarify to those who keeps on insinuating re the issue of network transfer that Jennylyn is a loyal artist of GMA and will always remain loyal for as long as her mother network wants her to stay.

“She was absent from the station ID simply because she was unavailable that day. Rest assured GMA extended an invitation to her, which we very much appreciate,” Becky stated.

She also spoke about Jennylyn’s husband Dennis Trillo, whose TikTok account made some comments about ABS-CBN recently. Becky clarified that Dennis’s TikTok account was hacked and that it was the hacker who posted the controversial comments.

“As for Dennis’ alleged comments on Tiktok, it was not him. Dennis is a very humble and respectful and known to be a man of few words. He is not the type who would release comments that are insensitive to others most specially to his former colleagues in ABS-CBN where he was first launched via Star Circle. His account was hacked yesterday as what our official statement said.

“Hope these clears everything. We appeal to the public to stop spreading hate and false accusations online. Thank you,” Becky explained.

Dennis Trillo is a Kapuso actor, recording artist, and model. He is known for playing the role of Eric del Mundo in "My Husband’s Lover." He also played the role of Crisostomo Ibarra and Simoun in the multi-awarded series "Maria Clara at Ibarra." He likewise starred in several movies such as "Mano Po III: My Love," "Mulawin: The Movie," "Mano Po 6: A Mother's Love," "You're Still the One," and many more. His awards include Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor.
