Veteran actor Ricardo Cepeda has granted an interview to 24 Oras on GMA News from his current place of detention. Cepeda, known for his contributions to the Philippine entertainment industry, found himself in hot water recently after being arrested on allegations of syndicated estafa.

In the interview, Cepeda expressed his shock and disbelief regarding the accusations. He revealed, "I was shocked because I wasn't aware na umabot sa may warrants ako. I had heard na may mga scandal, pero hindi ko alam na sinama nila ako."

The actor strongly maintains his innocence, insisting that he had no involvement in the alleged syndicated estafa.

Cepeda went on to clarify his lack of ties to the company under scrutiny, stating, "I'm not connected at all sa company, even sa business registration, my name is not there. Wala ako sa running business anything of the company. Model lang ako about the products."

He emphasized that he was merely a model for the company's products and not part of the company's decision-making or management.

Even though he believes that he will eventually be found innocent, Cepeda lamented about the toll this situation has taken on his life and career. Cepeda said, "Yung ano ko lang, yung time, the wasted time. I can't do anything. I cannot work because I'm here trying to prove my innocence."

Ricardo Cepeda, whose real name is Richard Cesar Cepeda Go, is a Pinoy veteran actor who made a name for himself in Philippine TV and cinema. He is 57 years old, having been born on October 11, 1964 in Manila, Philippines. He is known for movies like “Una Kang Naging Akin” which was released in 2008, the 2009 movie Kaya Kong Abutin Ang Langit and the TV series, Ang Probinsyano. He is the ex-husband of actress Snooky Serna.

As reported earlier, Ricardo Cepeda, a well-known veteran actor in Philippine cinema, was arrested on October 7 on charges of syndicated estafa. The veteran actor was arrested around 11 in the morning, Saturday, in Caloocan City.

Previously, Ricardo’s stepson, Joshua de Sequera, has taken to social media to defend his stepfather. According to Sequera, his stepfather was merely a product endorser for a sales company. He also emphasized that Cepeda had no knowledge of or involvement in the investment scheme that the company offered.
