His partner, former beauy queen and model Marina Benipayo, took to TikTok to defend Ricardo. According to Marina, her partner was not involved in estafa since he was just a brand ambassador or endorser for the company.
“Si Ricardo was never present in any of those talks about investing. Hindi nga kami nag-invest doon, kasi hindi kami nag-invest, wala kami pang-invest.
“Tsaka hindi po siya signatory, wala siya pinirmahan na kahit anong papel dun sa kumpanya.

“Ito nga ang pagka-brand ambassador niya, herbal nga iyan, kasi gusto nga niya tulungan yung tao in the first place,” Marina explained.
She added that her family never expected this to happen especially since Ricardo is known as a generous person who always helps others. Furthermore, Marina denied that she lives a lavish lifestyle with the actor.
“Napakabait niyang tao. Dami niya tinutulungan. Ito nga nangyari, tinutulungan lang din niya yung kilala niya.
“Pero, you know, of course, lessons learned.
“Never talaga in our lives, never namin ma-imagine na mangyayari sa amin ito…
“Meron kasi diyan, yung iba akala nila napakayaman namin kaya nangyayari daw sa amin ito. Friends. Wala po.
“Unang-una, sasabihin niyo yung lifestyle. Friends, hindi niyo kami kilala.
“Pero alam na alam ng pamilya, ng mga kaibigan namin, mga kamag-anak namin, na napakasimple ng buhay namin.

Ricardo Cepeda, whose real name is Richard Cesar Cepeda Go, is a Pinoy veteran actor who made a name for himself in Philippine TV and cinema. He is 57 years old, having been born on October 11, 1964 in Manila, Philippines. He is known for movies like “Una Kang Naging Akin” which was released in 2008, the 2009 movie Kaya Kong Abutin Ang Langit and the TV series, Ang Probinsyano. He is the ex-husband of actress Snooky Serna.
As reported earlier, Ricardo Cepeda, a well-known veteran actor in Philippine cinema, was arrested on October 7 on charges of syndicated estafa. The veteran actor was arrested around 11 in the morning, Saturday, in Caloocan City.
Previously, Ricardo’s stepson, Joshua de Sequera, has taken to social media to defend his stepfather. According to Sequera, his stepfather was merely a product endorser for a sales company. He also emphasized that Cepeda had no knowledge of or involvement in the investment scheme that the company offered.
