“I felt you in the sun. It didn’t rain, which felt rare. then in the laughter of my cousin as we sat sharing a juice. I could feel you and her dad, my uncle, smiling at us. It’s amazing how far we’ve come.

“I feel you now as I write this - with a few tears coming down my face as the American couple next to me laughs while doing a puzzle. I think of your adventurous spirit - your laugh, asking ‘what’s the plan, Eigenmann!’ and saying ‘aaalright’ when you were excited about what we came up with. wanting us to live life with joy and not taking things too seriously.
