Melai Cantiveros got emotional during a recent episode of the ABS-CBN program “Magandang Buhay.”

KAMI learned that Melai cried during the said episode while talking about her father Dionisio’s ordeal.

According to her, what her father is experiencing is one of her worst fears coming true. For this reason, she is already preparing herself for things to even get worse.

She is also trying to avoid crying too much because her father will get upset if he sees her crying.

Although she didn’t specify what her father is going through, it appears as if he is battling a severe health problem.

“Si papa talaga, meron siyang pinagdadaanan ngayon. Mahirap talaga sa isang anak. Ito 'yung isa talaga sa mga kinakatakutan natin na mangyari sa buhay natin 'yung mga magulang natin, hindi ba? Pero masakit mang [isipin], ire-ready mo ang sarili mo kasi ipinahiram din sa iyo ni Lord.

“So dahan-dahanin mong ia-accept. Sa pamilya namin ako talaga 'yung strong-strong. So laban lang, kasi the more na ipi-feel mo ang sakit mo, the more na dadami siya. Kaya kami sa pamilya, ako pa-strong-strong. Ayaw kong umiyak dito kasi nga makita niya na umiiyak ako, mai-stress na naman siya, kaya ayaw kong umiyak,” Melai shared.

Melai Cantiveros is a prominent showbiz personality in the Philippines. She tied the knot with Jason Francisco on December 9, 2013, and they already have two children. The comedienne also found success as one of the hosts of the ABS-CBN morning talk show “Magandang Buhay.”

In a previous report, Melai shared a fiery post after she and her daughters, who are still minors, received foul comments from a basher. The rude netizen accused the comedienne and TV host of being a robber and wickedly wished Melai’s children to die. Melai asked her followers to help her find the basher so he could face legal consequences.

Earlier, Melai took time to answer some of her bashers who posted negative comments after the comedienne declared her support for the candidacy of VP Leni Robredo in her bid for the presidency. The comedian is among the celebrities who recently declared their support for VP Leni in public. Her bashers immediately criticized her decision, with some of them bashing her directly. She answered many of them, albeit in a polite and friendly, but firm, manner.
