Enchong Dee was released by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) after he posted bail for the P1-billion cyber-libel case filed against him by Drivers United for Mass Progress and Equal Rights (DUMPER) party list representative Claudine Bautista-Lim.

In a report by the Inquirer, Enchong was released past 9 p.m. yesterday, January 31, as he posted for bail beyond the NBI’s office hours.
According to the Manila Bulletin, the actor reportedly posted P48,000 bail so that he can be released from detention.
Claudine filed a cyber-libel case against Enchong after he allegedly implied on social media that the DUMPER representative used the party list’s funds for her wedding last year.

After the NBI failed to find Enchong in his address with his warrant of arrest, the actor voluntarily surrendered himself to the bureau, as reported by the Philippine Star.
Enchong Dee is a Kapamilya actor who has appeared in projects such as Katorse, Maria de la Barrio, and Muling Buksan ang Puso. He also used to be an athlete, taking part in the Philippine national swimming team that competed in the SEA Games and 2006 Asian Games.
The actor earned a lot of praises online when he shared the positive result of his fundraiser with actress Ria Atayde. The two stars were able to purchase protective equipment and food because of their fundraiser. The actor then personally delivered the PPEs and food to the office of Vice President Leni Robredo.
He also made news when he expressed his outrage over the alleged list of asymptomatic politicians and individuals who supposedly took COVID-19 tests. Enchong Dee called the people in the alleged list as inconsiderate, greedy, and disgraceful.
