According to Kuya Kim, he is reposting his daughter’s post to express support for her journey.
“Reposting @emmanatienza and supporting her on her mental health journey,” Kuya Kim said.
Emman revealed that she battled and overcame anorexia nervosa, a disorder characterized by refusal to consume the normal amount of calories needed due to an obsession to lose weight.

The model shared that she was even refused professional help because clinically speaking, she was not yet considered underweight.
She was only given professional help once her weight dropped below normal.
For this reason, Emman urged people to try to lose weight in a healthy manner. She added that a person’s weight does not reflect his or her self-worth.
"i posted a video on my tiktok showing my ‘weight loss journey’ thinking nothing of it until people started asking me ‘how did you lose weight?’
“i’m not going to lie, after properly dieting and losing an increasingly high amount of weight, i became obsessive over my calories. i would sometimes eat much less than a healthy body needs to survive. it became so obsessive that others became concerned about my own health and my daily functioning was at stake.
“even with my mental state, i was refused professional help because i wasn’t ‘clinically underweight’ at the time. this is yet another way the stereotypes associated with mental health can truly affect people. i was struggling with my body, caloric intake, and more. yet, because i wasn’t underweight i couldn’t get help. this caused my mentality to deteriorate further.
“anorexia nervosa is defined as ;an emotional disorder characterized by an obsessive desire to lose weight by refusing to eat’ in no area does it specify ‘underweight’. yet i was only given professional help once i was clinically underweight.
“i urge everyone to lose weight healthily. if you are already struggling, i encourage you to seek help even if you aren’t underweight. remember that anorexia or any eating disorder isn’t defined by your weight, it’s your mental state and daily habits in which symptoms are present.
“lastly, please remember the numbers on your scale aren’t a measure of your self worth. i was beautiful before and after my weight loss. im recovered now but, previously, i simply chose to live a lifestyle with a better diet (which eventually turned sour). but you don’t have to end up the same way. do your research before dieting and remember to know your limits,” Emma said.
In a past post on social media, Emman revealed that she was also diagnosed with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPDS), bipolar disorder and ADHD [Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder]."
